Terms of Use
Last updated: 10 October 2026
Important. Record a conversation only when every participant has agreed, or when the law where you are allows it. You are responsible for that decision, not Local Minutes.
1. Agreement
These terms apply to Local Minutes for Mac (“the app”), offered by Jakub Jirák (“we”, “us”) through the Mac App Store. The app is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). If these terms and the Standard EULA conflict, the Standard EULA applies, except where these terms give you more rights.
By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.
2. Free and Pro
The app is free to download. Some features require Local Minutes Pro, an auto-renewing subscription. The features of each version are described on the website and in the App Store listing. We may change which features are included in each version, but we will not remove a feature you have paid for during the period you paid for it.
3. Subscriptions
- Plans. Local Minutes Pro is available as a monthly or a yearly subscription. The price is shown in the App Store before you buy.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and Apple charges the renewal price to your Apple Account within 24 hours before the period ends. It renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Free trial. New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it becomes a paid subscription at the price shown.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings on your Mac (System Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions) or in the App Store app. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. A cancelled subscription stays active until the end of the paid period.
- Price changes. If the price changes, Apple will ask you to agree to the new price before it applies to your subscription.
- Refunds. Apple handles refunds under its own policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Restoring. If you reinstall the app or use another Mac with the same Apple Account, use Restore Purchases in the app to restore your subscription.
4. Recording and consent
The app can record microphones and, with Pro, the sound of calls on your Mac. You are responsible for every recording you make and for how you use it. Before you record, you must:
- obtain the consent of the participants wherever the law of your country, or of the participants' countries, requires it, and
- comply with all other laws that apply to recording, storing and sharing conversations and personal data.
The app can store a record of consent for each recording. That record is a note you make for your own purposes. It does not replace consent, and it does not make a recording lawful.
5. Your content
You keep all rights to your recordings, transcripts, summaries and other content. Processing happens on your Mac. We do not receive or access your content, and we claim no rights to it.
6. AI-generated results
Summaries, decisions, action items, answers from “Ask” and other AI results are generated automatically by a model on your Mac. They can be inaccurate or incomplete, and transcription can contain errors. Check the results before you rely on them, especially for legal, financial, employment, medical or other important decisions.
7. AI models and third-party licences
The app downloads AI models from third-party sources. Each model is subject to its own licence, which the app lists in its Licences screen. You must comply with those licences.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the app to break the law, to infringe the rights of others, or to circumvent the technical limits or the App Store protections of the app.
9. Updates and availability
We may update the app and these terms. We will publish changes to these terms on this page and update the date at the top. The app may not be available at all times or on every device.
10. Warranty
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is”. Nothing in these terms limits any warranty or consumer right that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost recordings or transcripts, lost profits, or damage caused by reliance on AI-generated results. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim. This limit does not apply to liability that cannot be limited under the law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Keep regular backups of your recordings and transcripts, for example with Time Machine.
12. Ending use
You can stop using the app at any time. Cancel your subscription as described in section 3 to stop renewals.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer, you also keep the mandatory consumer protection rights of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.
